Heat treatments can be applied to completed pallets - alternatively if you know at the outset that you have a requirement for heat treatment, the timber can be heat treated during production.

When to choose new pallets?

When you need a specific size of pallet, or a particular board thickness, ordering new wooden pallets enables you to specify your requirements for a custom made pallet. For complex pallet requirements, Whirlowdale will produce a PDS (Pallet Design System) drawing of your pallet, so that you can check we have understood your requirements.

Pallet Quotation service

Once we have agreed your pallet specification and quantities, Whirlowdale will provide a quote to include the cost of production and delivery. Your pallets will be produced at our seven and a half acre site in Burton-on-Trent, where there are eight semi-automated pallet-making machines producing new pallets in volume. This, together with our manual production facility for smaller quantities, enables us to fulfil large contracts or small orders efficiently, whilst maintaining high quality standards throughout.

Pallet delivery pricing and timescales

Our pallets are typically constructed from Latvian timber from sustainable forests, although other materials can be used if required. In the current market, the timber lead-time is approx 12 weeks. As you may be aware, timber prices increased significantly during 2006, to as much as £120 per cubic metre in some cases. New pallet prices have increased as a result, and Whirlowdale usually requests a 6 month call off order, to guarantee delivery and price stability.
